Motor coach excursion to WEST FRANKFORT to be impressed by “THE LIVING CHRISTMAS TREE”, so named because the singers take places on constructed platform built to shape a tree. This tree is decorated in greenery and lights. It’s filled with 50 singers and reaches from floor to the ceiling of the church’s sanctuary. Before departing to CANDY CANE LANE, we view the special memorial honoring the COAL MINER’S contribution to our coal industry which once played a vital part in Southern, IL. economy. Then a short drive to the dazzling tour of a five-block community of WEST FRANKFORT, to marvel at the Christmas decorations and lights that include many of our favorites. Each year, the local school system incorporates the help of art and band students, which assist in deciding on that year’s particular theme for CANDY CANE LANE. In route to the concert, we enjoy our evening meal.
