This tour is scheduled before our cherished VETERAS DAY to honor our Veterans. We motor to Marion, IL. Visit the MARION VETERANS HOSPITAL and learn move about their important mission. Visit local owner, Sarah Lavender at ONE HOT COOKIE for a special treat. Her father may be available to discuss his special mission for all WWII Veterans. Later motor to CRAB ORCHARD WILDLIFE REFUGE AND MET OUR Step-On Guide to view an informative film. Our Guide boards the coach for a driving tour into the Refuge area. We learn that after World War II, this area was and still is ammunitions manufacturing site. You will be able to view WWII bunkers where ammunition was stored. In between our attractions enjoy a bountiful buffet lunch. As a suggestion it would be a nice gesture to bring some useful items, such as, stamps, stationery, envelopes, hygiene items for example to donate to our Veteran patients art the Marion Veterans Hospital during our visit.
